Rare Birds Musical Oddities:

Website and Branding Revamp

Rare Birds is a music shop in Chicago that sells vintage guitars, synthesizers, drum machines, and more. The owner needed a website because most of his revenue comes from foot traffic. He wanted a more direct way to reach his intended audience, so we decided on a small branding revamp along with a new website.

For the rebrand, the owner requested a pastel color palette and a handwritten/rough style. I wanted to capture the warm and rustic feeling you get when you enter his shop, so I used a color palette and typeface that gave off those warm feelings, while still being clean and simple to draw from the graphic style found on most vintage synthesizers.

The shop owner also requested some illustrations to be made for each of the different sections of his online store. I drew these illustrations in a rough and somewhat sketchy style to match the handwritten and vintage feel of the brand.
